About Sand Painting
Remember those glass bottles filled with layers of coloured sand? Sand Painting brings that same peaceful, hands-on feeling to your screen. Every grain falls naturally, slides down the slopes and piles up into smooth hills and stripes. No two pictures are ever the same.
There are no scores, no levels and no timer. It is simply you, a handful of beautiful colour palettes and a quiet moment to create something lovely – then save it, share it or start again.
How to play
- Press and drag on the canvas to pour sand. On a phone or tablet, just touch and move your finger.
- Choose a colour palette using the round buttons: Sunset, Ocean, Desert, Forest, Lavender or Rainbow. Each palette gently shifts its colour as you pour.
- Pick a brush size – S for fine details, M for everyday pouring, L for big, bold layers.
- Press Save image to download your artwork as a picture.
- Press Clear to empty the canvas and begin a new design.
Ideas to try
- Classic sand bottle: pour one colour across the whole width, switch palettes, and repeat to build neat horizontal layers.
- Desert dunes: use the Desert palette with the large brush and pour from different heights to create rolling hills.
- Sunset sky: build Sunset layers at the bottom, then sprinkle Lavender on top for a soft evening glow.
- Mountain range: pour from single points to create tall peaks, then fill the valleys with Forest green.
- Rainbow stripes: choose Rainbow and sweep slowly from left to right – the colours change as you go.
Why sand art feels so relaxing
Watching sand flow is gently hypnotic. Each grain follows simple, natural movements, and seeing layers slowly build up gives your mind something calm and predictable to focus on. Many people enjoy creative, low-pressure activities like this as a way to take a short mental pause.
Sand Painting is designed around that feeling: soft colours, smooth movement and complete freedom. There is no right or wrong picture – whatever you make is yours.
